All of my friends make fun of me because I primarily listen to video game music :( I'm glad I've found my people here!!

Recently Super Smash Bros Ultimate introduced four of my all-time favorite VGM tracks: Everyone is Here (the E3 2018 trailer theme), Mob Smash, the Galeem boss battle, and the Galeem/Dharkon boss battle. They are all truly epic in their own ways and the main melody of the game is the best by far.

As for games with holistically good soundtracks, Pokemon: HeartGold and SoulSilver have truly breathtaking soundtracks. I also think the first four Mario Party games have some really underrated gems.

Some standouts:

Super Smash Bros Ultimate:
Everyone is Here, Mob Smash, Galeem, Galeem/Dharkon, Staff Credits (Kirby's Dream Land), Kass' Theme, Spiral Mountain

Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door:
File Select, Rogueport, Rogueport Sewers, Petal Meadows, Storm the X-Naut Base!

Super Mario Odyssey:
Steam Gardens, Peach's Castle, Break Free (Lead the Way)

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver:
New Bark Town, Route 29, Azalea Town, Goldenrod City, National Park, Ecruteak City, Route 48/49, Staff Credits

Miscellaneous:
Hopes & Dreams/Save the World (Undertale), Lonely Rolling Star (Katamari Damacy), Let's Get a Move on (Mario Party 3), Start the Party (Mario Party 4), Stickerbush Symphony (Donkey Kong Country 2 and the Super Smash Bros Brawl remix), Dire, Dire Docks (Super Mario 64), Beneath the Mask (Persona 5), Rooftop Run - Modern (Sonic Generations), Castelia City (Pokemon Black and White), Astral Observatory (Majora's Mask)

T'were I to reply to this thread proper, this thread would look like one of those comically oversized manuals with 10+ billion pages.... so instead, I'll just give you a list of the ones I've been listening too lately... as well as game to.

They are:

I'd be down for that.
One series I don't think has been mentioned in the thread so far is Kirby. I own both the Kirby Cafe Album and the 25th Anniversary Orchestra CD because they're great. There's a a lot of really good arrangements in the recent games, both of the Ol' Classics like Gourmet Race and Dedede's Theme, as well as the new themes.

I found the seasonal background music from both Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, but I'm only familiar with the music from the ones that I used to have.

In example with the Magical Melody, Harvest Moon DS Cute and Story of Seasons.

In the spirit of all the FFVII Remake I've been playing, here are some of the super great battle themes:

'Let the Battles Begin' is remixed to the high heavens in this game and manages to be completely showstopping each time.

I forgot to mention that besides Pokémon, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons and Animal Crossing, I'm also a huge fan of three Style Savvy video games as well! Trendsetters, Fashion Forward and Styling Star.

For a while now I've been listening to the soundtrack for an indie, atari-styled platformer called KUSO (named after a Japanese expletive because the game is challenging, haha).

The soundtrack is by far one of the best game soundtracks I ever listened to. If you're a fan of indie electronic music then I highly recommend it. Lots of downtempo, synth, high energy, ambient, and everything in between!
